Training

Taining

  • Personal Training
  • Team Training
  • Company Training; in-house or off site

I can plan, develop and run customized communication trainings for you – e.g. in team development, leadership, consultancy/sales – that will best benefit your needs. During all phases of this project, I will work in close alliance with your organization. This way we can ensure that what you learn will transfer into your work, that the results are sustainable and that the outcome is in accord with the company’s vision.

In order for a training project to be successful, the following five factors are of importance:

Creating Short-term and Long-term Solutions

In addition to offering methods to resolve current (short-term) challenges, it is important to also focus on and understand the possible  underlying dynamics behind these challenges. When we gain a more comprehensive  understanding of a challenging situation and its potential (good or bad) for the organization at large, we can work out and implement solution scenarios. This enables you to develop measures that can help you to better deal with similar situations of this kind in future or avoid them all together(long term).

Maintaining Diversity

Everyone wants to learn from their mistakes. In order to do this, one needs to be able to develop an open and solution-oriented attitude – the life and blood of a healthy error-feedback culture. As we know, one of the principals of an effective leader is the willingness to learn. A flexible, diverse approach is required to deal successfully with an ever-changing market.

Strengthening Commitment

Education and training require commitment from the participants. This does not mean that humor and fun have no place – training should be fun and inspiring. After all, that is the way our brain functions best. In order to keep participants engaged however, the objectives and their practical application need to be constantly monitored, and adjusted if necessary – which requires a high degree of flexibility on my part.

Do-How vs. Know-How

Implementation and practical application are key factors in communication training. Know-how is important, as long as it contributes to the understanding of the concepts, and can be practically applied. To a certain extent we have a knowledge of communication and soft factor skills – been there, seen that, bought the T- shirt. Nevertheless . . . if we fail to apply the learnings, all that knowledge is futile. I therefore work with the following concept: Feasibility, Motivation and Measurability

Feasibility: Can we actually apply the learnings?

Motivation: Finding out what the expected results and changes are once we apply these learnings will bring an intrinsic motivation to what we are doing.

Measurability: How can we measure how much learning has been translated into action?

Walking the Talk

Clear communication is as much an attitude as a skill. A pragmatic approach and openness is needed when learning and when using communication and soft factor skills. Therefore it is important to identify possible problems and tensions right from the start and to find solutions by asking the right questions. This enhances honesty and transparency during the training.
